Leaders Grow Here.
Two challenging programs help Golden Lake Camp build it's leaders: LID Camp and our CIT Program.
Since 2005, we've added the Counsellor-in-Training (CIT) Program and made our Leadership in Development (LID) Program better than ever before. CIT is geared towards 14-15 year olds who want to learn by sharing the leadership experience with a seasoned counsellor. One week is spent with our perm staff counsellors, helping to lead campers through our camp activities and programs. CITs have daily meetings and workshops, and they work with the program team on evening games and theme nights. This summer, CIT is being offered during four weeks of the summer, with a total of 32 spots available - spots are filling up fast!
The infamous Golden Lake Leadership Development Camp is also taking shape for this summer with a mix of returning and new staff leaders, and a great new group of participants is already being formed. We knew the experience was a good one when a few of last year's participants asked if they could do it again! We'd love to accommodate, but this summer they'll be working at camp instead = )
LDC, being offered the first two weeks of July for youth ages 16-18, will be jam-packed with workshops, role plays, a canoe trip in Algonquin Park, a service trip to Ottawa, and many opportunities to lead, serve, and enjoy hanging out.
LDC and CIT are key in providing GLC with a well-trained staff base, and our campers benefit every step of the way.

Yours Sincerely,

Director of Leadership Development
Leadership Development Camp is an intensive two-week program at the beginning of July that you'll never forget. Open to youth ages 16-18, LDC includes workshops, games, small group discussions, a three-day canoe trip in Algonquin Park, a service day in Ottawa, and many opportunities to practice leadership skills.
Based on Christ's example of servanthood leadership, LDC provides a chance for spiritual growth and reflection. It is a great way to prepare for being on staff at camp, and also looks excellent on a resume! You do not need to be an experienced leader to participate in LDC; all you need is a desire to grow as an individual and in your faith. It's all about strengthening who you already are.
